Jesus Turned my Life Around

Dragging the Dirt

At a time in my life when I was at my lowest, Jesus appeared in my life and gave me a direction.

I was hurting... My family had disintegrated. I had no idea what I was going to do. It turned out that one of my close friends had a house that was vacant. Well, more like abandoned. I asked to stay there until I figured out my next step. He said I could, and when I got there, it was in the state you'd think an abandoned house would be.

I started cleaning: starting with the living room, then the bathroom, then the kitchen, and then the bedroom. It was a massive undertaking that had to be done.

I was so thankful for a place to stay. My friend offered to take me out to a fancy restaurant to thank me for cleaning his house. We made our way on down the road, and passed a church with a sign saying 'community dinner'. We stopped at the church, instead of heading on to the restaurant in the city.

My friend brought in his guitar (we're musicians). We ate, and played a song or two. The pastor said they needed a piano player. It's something I've always wanted to do. I auditioned the next week, and committed to my service of the Lord. I'm so proud to use my gift in a way that glorifies God.

The Best Day of my Life

I found a home church that day, and since then I've become closer and closer to God in my service to Him. I love my life close to God, and it has protected me from making choices that were destructive to my life. I thank God every day for the life he has given me.

My Witness to You

No matter what you are guilty of, there is forgiveness for you in the eyes of Jesus. Paul was persecuting the followers of Jesus when he was called into service as an apostle: there's nothing you've done that exceeds the transgressions of Paul. You do not have to clean your life up to be close to Jesus: instead, give your life to Jesus and He will clean it up for you. There is an unrivaled peace waiting for you: cast your cares upon the Lord.

No man can judge you, but God will, and that's between you and God. We all have things present in our life that are wrong and against God. It's in our nature as humans to sin. Your wrongs are no worse than mine (we are all sinners): but they're still wrong, as are mine. The presence of the wrong is why we need Jesus. He will show you what's wrong with your life, give you the power to change it, and forgive you for falling before you knew the difference.
